Fear of flying: GOP lawmakers worry about security gaps at Cuban airports

Now that Cuba has reached an agreement with the United States, there are now 10 airports in Cuba that have direct flights to the United States. Many have concerns about the quality of security for several reasons. First, all of the employees working at these airports are either privately hired by airlines or by the Cuban Regime. Also, TSA Personnel say that the security dogs look like "mangy street dogs". Lastly, the article says that the airports have a combined 2 full body scanners at security check points but they were made by the Chinese, which have not gone under much testing. But the airports do meet the minimum security mandated by law in the United States. The most interesting part about this is the equity behind the situation. This is purely to ease the minds of U.S. citizens from fear of unwanted goods and people in to our country. Even though the borders from Cuba to the U.S. is more open, this does not mean that we will gladly accept them to be one of us.
