Donald Trump Admits Obama Was Born In U.S.

In a recent Washington interview, Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump finally gave up his 5-year campaign denying President Obama's birth records. One could argue that this comes at a point in which Trump is attempting to better his public perception prior to the first rounds of Presidential debates. Therefore, the efficiency of this movement is somewhat in question, especially given Trump's history of leniency with facts, as well as his long campaign against President Obama.

In typical Donald Trump fashion, the interview would not come without Trump showcasing his self-pride. Trump made sure to acknowledge his willingness to face the facts, claiming "I finished it." Personally, I find this statement as nothing more than a publicity stunt, an attempt for Trump to fight against his reputation as a liar. Furthermore, Trump also used the opportunity to state that his opponent, Hillary Clinton, started the "Birther movement", a claim with no legitimacy. Interestingly, this ploy also comes just weeks after Trump attempted to appeal to African-American voters, asking "What do you have to lose?"It is difficult to comprehend that these two actions are not related. However, perhaps this serves as a turning point for Donald Trump prior to the homestretch of the election, in an attempt to become a more serious candidate in the eyes of the public and with minority voters.
