Using Toilet Paper to Fill Cracks in the Road

A city in Colorado is using toilet paper to fill the cracks in their roads. Sounds ridiculous at first, but seems brilliant after you read about it. After the workers put tar down in the cracks of the roads to fill wholes and what not, they lay toilet paper on top so the tar does not stick to things that go over it, such as shoes and cars. They are able to open roads much sooner than before and the toilet paper is biodegradable so it is gone within a few days. The spokeswoman says to not use 2-ply though. The top layer comes off and makes a mess of the area, so stick with the cheap stuff.
This could be very beneficial for areas such as Michigan who deal with large potholes every spring. Instead of backing up traffic for long periods of time, like what is going on with West Main right now, the roads can be opened back up at a faster rate. The environment isn't hurt either since the stuff is biodegradable. The extra cost of buying toilet paper for the roads can't be too extreme, like the lady said, its single ply, the cheap stuff. I love the idea because I can't stand traffic jams. I have places to be and don't like sitting around waiting in a line because they have one lane shut down so everyone needs to get over, but no one ever does it at a convenient time. It sounds like this toilet paper could open lanes up again in fewer days than they previously had before. It sounds like a crazy idea, but I guess places in Nebraska have been doing this as well. I think Michigan should give it a go.
